クラスの案内文に書かれていた “hands-on” の意味とは？
今度、パイ作りのクラスに参加することにしました。そこでクラスの案内文を読んでみると、”hands-on” という言葉が気になりました。
In this hands-on class, we’ll delve into three unique recipes that highlight the authors’ inventive approach to pie. We’ll also go over proper technique for making their delicious all-butter crust and each student will take a piece of dough home. The menu includes: Rhubarb Pie, Salted Honey Pie, and Strawberry-Balsamic Pie.
“hands-on” は「実践的な」という意味です。
hands-on: doing something yourself rather than just talking about it or telling other people to do it
（ただ話をするだけでなく、実際にやってみるという意味なんですね！）
つまり、案内文にはこう書かれていたのでした。

このクッキング・クラスが開催されるのは、実は本屋さん。料理本だけを扱うユニークな本屋さんで、なんと店の中にキッチンもあるのです。そこで料理本のレシピを掘り下げるクラスが定期的に開催されているのです。

ソルト・ハニー・パイやストロベリー・バルサミコ・パイは正直味が全く想像できませんが、ルバーブ・バイが大好きなので、説明文を読むやいなや、速攻申し込んでしまいました。
このクラスを取ればルバーブ・パイが自分で作って食べられるようになるかと思うと、今から胸が躍ります！
